Bo Kaap 1 and Bo Kaap 2
They are collaged pieces from magazine, paper, and painted watercolors. The piece is based on a neighborhood in Cape Town South Africa in 2000. I was struck how the homes in that area were painted the most amazing vibrant hues. It always stuck with me and taught me to not be so intimidated by the use of such vibrant colors. I wished that I could live in one of those homes. The area is also one of the more culturally diverse neighborhoods in already one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world.
