Born in Hong Kong, Maria Lee emigrated to the US as a young girl. Her ability to draw was a great way to deal with the culture shock. Her artistic ability earned her a full scholarship to New York's School of Visual Arts where she studied Illustration. After graduating, she went on to work in advertising and graphic design for the next 10 years. Her passion for art led her to pursue an MFA in computer art at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and thereafter into the 3D world of video games and computer animation. has worked as a digital painter at Pixar Studios since 2005. Outside work, MariaMaria enjoys painting from life and spending time with her four-year-old daughter.
A wide variety of mediums are being used to create each individual "Art Blocks" From Oils, Acrylic, Gouache, Mixed Media, Collage and Sculpture. The theme given is "Home", a simple word with a valuable meaning. They are all so inspiring, we thought we would share the process..
